Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS) Facility Audits

Aztech Technologies Inc. has experience performing audits of PBS facilities. These audits include physical inspections of petroleum dispensers, tank fills, submersible sumps, vapor recovery access ports and overfill / overspill containment. Aztech personnel also have experience inspecting interstitial monitoring systems and assessing petroleum inventory records.

PBS Facility audits include the following inspections and reviews:

  • Review information about all underground storage tanks (USTs) and aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) including material of construction, installation date, tank capacity and product stored for compliance with 6 NYCRR Part 614.

  • Review information on product piping system including material of construction, installation date and type of dispensers (pressurized, suction or gravity).
  • Inspect documentation including 10 day reconciliation, daily water checks, 52 week petroleum inventory control sheets and 52 week monitoring well reports.
  • Review PBS registration certificate to ensure information is current and correct with respect to the Facility Information Report (FIR); make sure As-Built drawing is accurate and present on site.

  • Inspect corrosion protection test results, mechanical leak detector test results and line leak detector test results.
  • Inspect product fill system including manhole color codes, spill buckets, overfill protection, fill caps and drop tubes.
  • Inspect vapor recovery system including manholes and covers, fill caps, poppet valves and coaxial adapters.
  • Inspect groundwater monitoring wells including manhole color codes, expandable plugs and presence of product in groundwater.
  • Inspect interstitial monitoring wells including manhole color codes, electronic sensors and presence of liquid.
